Perform service, repair and diagnostic and preventative maintenance procedures, use related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems, accurately and completely document on work orders

 
Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset, enrolled as an Apprentice  in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred, capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy duty mechanic trade, committed to customer service

The Role to ASSIST IN:

• Diagnose components and equipment for servicing needs.
• Service and repair equipment in the shop and on-site for the customer.
• Communicate equipment servicing needs.
• Communicate work performed and complete service paperwork.
• Conduct housekeeping duties

The Candidate

• Education: Currently registered in Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship program
•  Proficient written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work; demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills

• Determine welding needs and offer recommendations for desired repairs and outcomes
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and other documents as required
• Perform repairs and installation and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and structures
• Troubleshoot equipment mechanical issues
• Participate in preventative maintenance on key machine centers, general equipment repairs and project related work
• Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given on  work orders

• 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Apprentice 
• Experience in a fabrication environment
• Bolt Up knowledge
• Experience with Cranes
• Read drawings
• Assembly
